Progressive democrat venom focused on wrong person.

I don't quite understand why progressive democrats focus their venom on President Joe Biden. I understand and sympathize with progressives desire to obtain a ceasefire in Gaza to get needed aid to the Palestinians; free the hostages; and cease the carnage. However, the invective and anger is incorrectly focused. Pressuring both Israel and Hamas is the only way to attain a cease fire. Destroying Hamas is the only way to end the war.

What Did "Founding Fathers" Mean by "Freedom of Religion"?

"Both the Christian Right and the secular Left are largely wrong about the religious beliefs of America’s key Founders and, consequently, their prescriptions for America based on those assumptions are also wrong. America’s Founders were not all Christians, and they did not intend to create a Christian nation. On the other hand, they were not rank secularists who intended to erect a wall of separation between church and state. They were religious men who wanted religion – but not necessarily Christianity – to have significant influence in the public square."

I Expected Red-State Republicans to Reinstate 1800s Abortion Bans

On April 9, 2024, The New York Times online published an article reporting that the Arizona State Supreme Court reinstated a 160-year-old abortion ban. While I am disturbed that the Arizona State Supreme Court reinstated a 160-year-old abortion ban, I am much more apprehensive that several other partisan Republican State Supreme Courts (or Legislatures) will resurrect similar, antiquated laws?

Trump Convicted by Manhattan Jury

On May 30, 2024, Mr. Donald J. Trump was unanimously found guilty of 34 of 34 counts by 12 Manhattan, NY residents (jury of his peers) beyond a reasonable doubt. Each of the 34 counts were for falsifying business records (to hide the "catch and kill" scheme) to protect Mr. Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. The jury deliberated just over 9 hours.
